Description:

The Sustainable Remediation Forum (SURF) will be hosting the Climate Change and Resiliency within Remediation forum at the Parsons Headquarters in Pasadena, on March 2-3.

Featured panel discussion includes,  “Building Resilience into Remediation and Redevelopment Planning” moderated by Dion Jackson, Program Director, USC Center for Economic Development in the Price School of Public Policy.  Price School professors, Hilda Blanco, Research Professor and Interim Director, Center for Sustainable Cities and Krista Sloniowski, Adjunct Professor and President, Connective Issue, are panelists along with Anne Dailey, Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation, U.S. EPA.

Featured speakers include, Heather Rosenberg, USGBC, and Nurit Katz, UCLA Chief Sustainability Officer. Heather currently serves as the Director for the U.S. Green Building Council Los Angeles Resilience Initiative. She has worked on sustainable community development for more than 15 years, including work on brownfield redevelopment. Heather will be presenting on the development of a USGBC Resilience Tool. As UCLA’s first Chief Sustainability Officer, Nurit provides sustainability strategy support for university operations and resilience planning. She is actively involved in sustainable leadership both on and off campus.
